Helping others find joy in all facets of life has been my lifelong passion. For the past 8 years as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, I have been working in private practice with children, adolescents, couples and individuals. Prior to being licensed, I worked in the mental health field in various public and non-profit organizations. I feel privileged to have worked with so many amazing clients over the past 23 years.
I obtained my California State Marriage & Family License ( Lic # MFC 38100) from the Board of Behavioral Sciences in 2001. My Master's of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology was completed at National University and my Bachelor of Arts Degree was obtained at CSU Sacramento. I am an active member of the California Association For Marriage & Family Therapist.
I believe that human beings have an inbuilt propensity towards self-realization. My job is to help remove the obstacles that will help my clients to become more mature and fully realized. Irvin Yalom, M.D. states, "Therapy isn't theory driven but relationship driven." He was speaking about the therapeutic relationship. It is my goal to provide my clients with the safest, most empathetic, compassionate experience possible so that they can do the work they are there to do. I am here to help guide the process as we develop more effective strategies for dealing with the particular issues and improving results.
I also bring to the therapeutic relationship over 40 years of living on this planet. I enjoy an extraordinary life with my amazing husband, four tremendous children, two crazy dogs and one adventurous cat. Living in the foothills, allows me to revel in the beauty of nature on a daily basis in various outdoor activities. In living my life fully, I am touched, moved and inspired to help others.
